Vertical Computer Systems Inc. Announces Official Delivery Date of its Emily XML Enabler Agent for November 17, 2000

Responding to feedback from its Beta test, a new set of features are being introduced which will assist Web users to effortlessly extend their scope of B2Bi (business-to-business integration), B2Ci (business-to-customer integration) and B2Gi (business to-government integration) capabilities.

Also, the XML Enabler Agent is being developed with all Web users in mind. It is Web-based, simple to set up, and easy to use.

The new exclusive Emily XML Enabler Agent features are:

  1. "Database Driver Interface" which supports plug-in drivers, including new drivers for Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, and databases that support the Open Database Connectivity standard. This allows a wider range of databases to be supported.
  2. "Forms" facility that allows a Web user to design individualized input forms that accept purchase orders, or other commonly used forms such as patient records for hospitals. This feature provides a simple "point-and-click" setup that allows multi-functional forms to be created, and customer receipts to be set up easily.
  3. "Form Action Interface" that allows actions to be associated with forms such as updating databases, running external programs, producing various XML documents, and generating e-mail when forms are submitted. This will permit the Emily XML Enabler Agent to interface with other non-XML compliant programs.
  4. "Utilities" that allow any XML documents to be posted to the agent by third parties, and XML catalog data to be downloaded from the agent. These new utilities will also provide valuable sample managers that can be used as a Web user interface to the Emily XML Enabler Agent.

Richard Wade, president of Vertical Computer Systems Inc., stated, ``We are very proud of the progress that we have made on our Beta testing of the Emily XML Enabler Agent which will be introduced on November 17th. Interoperability is a key benefit of using XML for communications and data exchange today. Especially considering the accelerated trend toward the use of XML as a key technology of e-commerce today, we are very excited to deliver our excellent product that will enable Web developers to rapidly and easily build and deliver XML-based Web services immediately.''
